We just celebrated our second wedding anniversary. We spent one year of that in Utah, and one year in California. James is more than 3 months old now. He officially laughs, likes to have his legs moved "bicycle" style, likes to be pulled up from a laying-down position to sitting up, and true to his parents' roots, loves to watch TV. He enjoys the boob tube from his BabyBjorn BabySitter. This week he even reached out and spun one of the toys on it around for the first time, which was really cool. We think this means he has discovered his hands. Stew is of the opinion that he has also discovered his feet, but he must have done that in the quiet moments of Daddy-time, because Mom has yet to see it. Another milestone--this week James slept for 8 hours straight at night. We got a lot of sleep, but Mom misses her time with him at night.
In the meantime, not much is changing here in San Diego. The leaves on I-5 outside our window are not changing. The sun is pretty much as warm as it ever is. These are the seasons in southern California, such as they are. We are gearing up for a weekend of baking and closet cleaning. The Young Women had a lot of people sign up for their bake sale (that's what happens when you pass the sign-up sheet around on the Sunday when everyone fasts for 24 hours). We will spend Saturday baking 6 dozen brownies. For guidance on closet cleaning, Mom & Dad watched Tim Gunn's Guide to Style on TV in the wee hours of the morning over the weekend when James decided he would rather be up than down. It was that or the Young & the Restless recaps on SoapCentral, and well, we could agree on Guide to Style. Now we know how to clean out Mom's closet and keep only the "essentials" of a wardrobe list. Since Mom doesn't fit into her skinny clothes anyway, this should not be difficult.
